Hi y’all I hope your weekend was fabulous and didn’t go by too quickly like mine did!
This morning started off with a very very very slow run. It was the first time in a LONG WHILE that I woke up early to run. As I was walking for warm up I was thinking how nice it was outside and how I was so glad I got up… then I started running and the story changed completely. My legs were SUPER heavy from two days of weight lifting/strength training I felt like I was barely moving (because I was barely moving) but I don’t mind because it was the first time I’ve ran a distance over 2 miles outside in over a month so…
After mass I headed to my favorite Trader Joe’s without a plan. Usually I have a plan of what I’m going to eat during the week and a list to make that happen. This time I had no idea what I wanted so I let TJ’s inspire me!
Last week’s plan of eating more fruit to kick the sugar cravings didn’t go as well as I hoped, so I decided to try something new. I bought low fat ice cream sandwiches and dark chocolate covered almonds. Still definite treats…. but somewhat healthier. I put the almonds right next to the peanut m & m jar and obviously the ice cream sandwiches in the freezer. So now when I go looking for a treat, I’ll have a still good but slightly healthier option along side the candy and other stuff. I’ll let you know how it goes!
First Time Shopping for Eyeglasses
I also talked my roommate/landlord into going to Costco with me so that I could fill my prescription for glasses. Dun Dun Dun I’ve never had glasses before so when my distance vision started declining (started having trouble seeing slides from my preferred back of the class seat) a couple of years ago, I put off going to get my eyes checked. Of course now I wish I wouldn’t have waited so long (till graduate school was over) because Costco made everything pretty easy! Apparently I’m near-sided with a slight astigmatism. The optometrist said studying up close material for long hours (such as in graduate school) can sometimes take a toll on your distance vision. Anyways, I sent like a million pictures to Paul trying to decide which ones to buy…
I’ll reveal the chosen pair when the real ones come in 10-12 days! After wandering around trying all the samples, we also picked up more 90 second brown rice bowls and we got 90 second quinoa bowls too. I LOVE costco, I can’t wait to stock our new apartment as soon as I move back!

Tipp for glasses…go to a ace hardware and find the reader glasses. they are all super cheap nothing over 5 or 6 bucks. You can find some that you think you are pretty in and then go have the lenses made to fit. CHEAP way to do it cause they will rip you off for the frames and the lenses…..You will look pretty in any frames you pic so don’t worry! 🙂 …LOL YEA heavy legs on that run HOOAH! get used to it! POWER through keep pushing. Learn to love that feeling! SOON you will experience a thing called runners high. ITS amazing! You will know it when you are there so Im not gonna spoil it for you.
