The weekends as a parent feel sometimes very short, and sometimes very long, ya know? There is so much to do in such a short period of time between endless meals, filling water bottles, wiping booties, and sports practice. It sometimes makes the weekends feel more chaotic than the work week. The work week is very scheduled for me, so the weekend can feel a little out of control sometimes. I’ve been waking up early to get a workout out or just have a little me time, so I feel more centered for a day with zero structure. This weekend is starting a little early because after I’m done with this post, I’m off for the day! KJ has an event at school, and KK has an art event to go to. Plus, I’ve got to take the baby to the doctor to make sure she doesn’t have an ear infection before the weekend kicks in. So, with everything going on, I decided to take off the day. Hoping to be able to get a jumpstart on the weekend to-do list like Amazon returns or do something fun with them, but who knows with the littles in tow!

Snow Day in Flagstaff
Around dinner time last Friday, my Aunt called to say there was a nice few inches of snow on the ground, enough to go sledding, and said I should bring the kids down! Mr. Hungry and I are not the most spontaneous people in the world. We are more planners than spontaneous, so I’m proud of us for leaving the to-do list, packing up, and taking the kids down to see the snow for the weekend! I’m really glad we went last weekend because this weekend there is so much snow that many people are snowed in!
I always get asked about my Mama Needs Coffee Hoodie, I got it on Amazon! The boy’s snowsuits were from Old Navy last year, highly recommend them if they still have them. Great quality for the price. The baby got lucky and a friend gave me her bright pink Columbia snowsuit, which is ADORABLE.
Red Wine Blend – Costco
After a long day playing in the snow, my aunt poured me a glass of this red wine blend she said she had gotten at Costco. It was really smooth! I wanted to share in case you like blends and haven’t tried this one yet! I’m not super picky on wine; I’ll drink anything red, but I was impressed by this one and will be grabbing a bottle the next time I’m at Costco.
Learn To Spell Hot Wheels Car Kit
I decided after six months of solid potty training, it was time to wean KK off of M&Ms as potty treats. Unlike his brother, KK goes long periods between using the potty, so he was only getting the treats a few times a day, but I felt like he was old enough to understand the concept of going all day now to earn something. (Also, trying to pull treats too early from Kal was a huge downfall for us, so I really stayed on the side of caution in keeping them in.) I found this hot wheel set on Amazon, which is so cool! It has a variety of types of cars in it, and each has a letter. We’re all about exposure to the alphabet in this house this year since KJ is in Pre-K. Anyway, I’ve been using these cars, and it’s going pretty well!
Fitness
Here is what my workouts looked like this week:
- Friday – hill sprint workout on Expecting and Empowered Ap. —> This workout consisted of a 5-minute warm up and cool down, but the meat of the workout was six rounds of alternating a 1-minute sprint uphill and a 3-minute walk. I did 1 minute at 7.5 and an 8% incline, I thought I was gonna die. I needed the WHOLE 3 minutes to recover. It felt soooooo good, though! You should definitely try it! You could do it walking, too, where you walk uphill super fast and then recover on flat ground.
- Saturday – off, snow day!
- Sunday – off, snow day!
- Monday – off wasn’t feeling good, but did walk 2 miles while on a training
- Tuesday – 30-minute run Expecting and Empowered Ap. plus, a 2-mile walk while on a phone call
- Wednesday – Full Body Workout, plus a 2-mile walk while on a phone call
- Thursday – Metabolic Workout, plus a 2-mile walk while on a phone call
That’s it! Have a great weekend y’all!
