What’s up, friends? Man, this week, FLEW by! I have a recipe I updated that I didn’t quite get to publishing that I’m planning to publish later this afternoon, so check back in! It’s a great weekend recipe!
Last weekend we got family photos taken, and the sneak previews are to die for!
This weekend we have the fall festival at church as well as preparations for KJ’s four-year-old birthday party! I can’t believe my baby is going to be four! His party will be dinosaur themed, and although the party will be the weekend following, we have a few special things planned for his birthday. Including a funfetti cake! I swear that kid is just like his Mama when it comes to food sometimes. He loves frosting as much as I do, only second to sprinkles. Funfetti was always my favorite growing up, so I was stoked when he picked that up at the store!
I’m a little late on getting this post up so let’s jump into some favorite finds of the week!
WTE? Meal Plan
Meal plan subscribers, your meal plan went out this morning! Enjoy!
Bathtub Playshelf
I saw this shelf on a reel almost two years ago but never bought it. When we moved into this house, the kids now bath in the upstairs bathroom, and Mr. Hungry is a little paranoid about leaks in an upstairs bathroom causing major problems. One of the tiles is cracked by the toilet, and he does not like water on the floor. To help reduce the amount of water on the floor, I got the kids this bathtub play shelf, and not only does it work, but they LOVE It. I don’t know what it is about kids and shelves, but they love to stick their bathtubs up there and play. Highly recommend!
Connecting the Dots Female Hormones – DUTCH Training
One of the reasons I’m so behind on life is I’m diving into this training and LOVING it. I have a very strong functional and integrative (read naturopathic type) training background from when I worked at the gym. There I received a ton of training on how to interpret labs, hormone health, and much more. Training by a lead Dietitian and an ND. But I’ve been itching for more. I’ve been itching to offer my clients something beyond just general labs they can get at the doctor. A more in-depth look at female hormones and how you can optimally balance them to meet your goals (weight loss, PCOS symptoms, PMS symptoms, sleeping better, the list goes on and on.)
So when I saw this training on the DUTCH test specifically focused on pre and peri-menopausal women, I jumped on it immediately. If you are an RD looking for more training and another offering for your clients, I highly recommend this one! I’ve been following the modules, and I’m leaving no stone unturned. I’ve read every single additional resource they recommend, including an 85-page complication of research studies on how mitochondria health relates to just about everything. (But I would caution that you need a strong understanding of hormone balance and naturopathic medicine before diving in, they go fast.) And if your someone interested in getting more information about your hormone health, I’ll have some additional information out soon!
Fitness
It’s been a shit show, honestly. LOL Let me see what I remember. I caught the kids cold… again… and am struggling. I know it’s a season of life, but MAN, it’s rough. Then on Wednesday, I went to pick up KK over a chair and pulled my mid-back. So that was fun, lol.
