Hi Friends! I hope you had a wonderful holiday if you celebrate Christmas, I had so much fun and have so much to tell you about!
Christmas Eve
9 Mile Run
I decided to knock out my training run on Christmas Eve morning, but when I woke up it was dark, cloudy, and raining. I looked up a nearby gym to go on the treadmill, but Mr. Hungry offered to tough out the rain with me so we went! I didn’t bring my camera on the run but I went back to take pictures later, so imagine it drizzling in all these pictures! Up first the hill of death around mile 2 and 7 (we did a 6 mile loop and a 3 mile loop), I wanted to walk it but Mr. Hungry encouraged me to jog!
1mi- 10:57
2mi- 10:31
3mi- 10:26
I was looking back at the last time I ran 9 miles, and this run was definitely much healthier and faster, I’m thankful each day I’m able to do something I love so much every day. I felt good that I’ve finally learned enough about my body to be able to know when to push.
4mi- 10:26
5mi- 10:27
We had a lot of fun running through the vineyards, it was absolutely breath taking, even in the rain. We both keep talking about how much fun the run was!
6mi- 10:15
7mi- 10:32
8mi- 9:59
9mi- 10:36
Of course Mr. Hungry can just pick up and run that far without training, the man is a machine!
I really hope that means I’ll average under 10minutes at an actual race????
What was nice about this trip is that Mr. Hungry’s Aunt, Uncles, and cousins came down from Michigan, so we had a big crew to visit with which was definitely a treat! We went to mass Christmas Eve night and then the feast and games began! I didn’t take any pictures but we did it up southwest style with tamales, enchiladas, homemade refried beans, and homemade salsa! Dessert was homemade baklava made by my sister in law which was also amazing!
Christmas
Christmas morning I whipped up this veggie packed, ham and cheese crustless quiche for everyone to enjoy! I’ll be sure to share the recipe as soon as possible!
We also had donuts from pyscho donuts and bacon!!!!!
I definitely had a few more pieces of apple fritter donuts, those were yummy! The rest of the day was filled with dominos (Mexican train dominos is so freaking fun by the way) and other games including catch phrase and poker! Dinner was roast, but since I’m not into roast so much I made some salmon as well.
I definitely went back for seconds of the veggies and cheesy potatoes 😉 . Dessert was wine and baklava! I don’t know how I missed getting a picture of my SIL’s amazing homemade baklava, I guess she will just have to make it again for me!
