Do you know what I love about spring? Well gorgeous weather and back-to-back lower stress holidays like Easter, Cinco De Mayo, and Mother's Day. What do I want for Mother's Day this year? Ideally, to have met baby #2 and to have been able to enjoy a Margarita on Cinco De Mayo. I have a really strong feeling that this baby will come in April, but my due date is in May, and KJ was induced at 41 weeks, so I fully acknowledge I could be wrong. So, just in case my body and baby #2 have plans of their own, I put together a list of backup ideas!
These are all things that I've really loved this year, or my friends suggested I include in this guide, so I really hope it helps inspire your gift ideas this spring 🙂 I had WAY too much fun putting this together, that's for sure!
Nixplay Digital Frame
I received the Nixplay Digital Frame from Paul's parents last year, and we seriously love it (they also have one.) It easily connects to the app, where you can create playlists directly off your phone. The only downside I've found is that you can only upload about 10 photos at a time, and videos have to be less than 15 seconds (unless you upgrade your membership), but, overall we really enjoy it! I've started to remember to add new photos to my frame whenever I do a new chatbook (about every 3 months.)
Stacked Name Bracelets
I LOVE the stacked bracelet trend and have been on board for the last few years. These customizable stacked homemade boho-style bracelets with your children's (and fur babies?) names on them are adorable. I really like the gold one in the photo, but these are cute as well!
Blue Sky Planner
I've bought one of these every year for the last 3 or 4 years, I just ordered my new 2021-2022 planner, so I thought I'd add it to the list. These planners have the perfect amount of space, without too many extras. I love the weekly/monthly planners. They have beautiful designs and an easy clear layout. So if you know someone that still loves their paper planner (versus keeping all due dates and notes digitally), I highly suggest this one!
Catholic Moms Prayer Companion Guide
After reading and appreciating so many of these daily prayer meditations, I don't think it's SUPER specific to being "catholic" and would be a wonderful gift for any Christian mom looking to deepen her faith.
New Fitness Tracker
I know tons of people LOVE their Apple Watch, so I think that would make a wonderful gift. I'm still using my 6-year-old Garmen Vivoactive, and I still enjoy it. Mr. Hungry recently got the Fitbit Charge, and he LOVES that.
Roomba i7+
We recently purchased the Roomba i8+ from Costco, which is basically the i7+ but a specific Costco model. I have a full review coming on this bad boy soon, but to say I'm happy with this purchase is an understatement. I would HIGHLY suggest going through Costco for this purchase, though, because I've been warned of really poor customer service and warranty issues with iRobot. (A friend of mine had her battery die after only 9 months, and they refused to replace it.)
That being said, this thing works almost flawlessly. The features I love are the ability to map the whole house, and you can designate rooms for cleaning. For instance, we run it in the kitchen and dining room after I'm done with recipe development and photography. It also self empties, and if he dies in the middle of cleaning, it will go charge itself and pick back up where it left off. I don't even care about the floors that much (Mr. Hungry is much more particular), and I've really enjoyed this purchase more than I ever thought I would.
Braava Jet Mop
I'm putting this one on the list because one of my friends LOVES hers. I'm not as impressed with it as she is, although I am keeping it, so there is that. There is more to come in a full review, but I thought I'd add this one to the list to check out if you already have a robot vacuum.
Fab Fit Fun Box
One of my friends suggested I include this fab fit fun box because she received it as a gift from her MIL and loved it so much! I'm hesitant to include subscriptions like this since I feel like I'm turning down a new "subscription box" review email every day. But she really raved about it as a great Mother's Day gift, so I figured I had to include it! (PS this friend is not overly into health or spending a ton of money, so for her to really love this subscription says a lot to me!)
John Boos Cutting Board
I recently bought one of these large wooden cutting boards and couldn't love it more. Now, this is definitely more for your "loves to cook" Mama because a wooden cutting board requires more care and maintenance. However, it looks beautiful on my counter and has a wide surface area, so I never feel cramped.
Indoor Herb Garden
We got a similar gift for my MIL a few years ago, and it was a big hit! These indoor herb gardens aren't very messy, don't take up a lot of space, and are fun!
