Kelli has helped me in so many ways, but the main thing I've gained from working with her is obtaining a healthier relationship and mindset with food - food, calories and fat are not the enemy!

Kelli has helped me in so many ways, but the main thing I’ve gained from working with her is obtaining a healthier relationship and mindset with food - food, calories and fat are not the enemy! I would regularly lower my calories during the week and cut things out because I didn’t want to eat “bad” food, and then end up binging on the weekends or at family gatherings consistently. This led to a very unhealthy seesaw of emotions, weight gain and loss, and beating myself up. Kelli gave me real, practical things I could do during my week to get me where I am now, which is eating all kinds of delicious food, losing weight at a healthy pace, and making better choices about what I consume and how much. The best part is that I’m eating healthier but don’t feel deprived and that will help me continue this lifestyle for the long haul.

My weight went down really quickly then, 45 lbs in less than a year, my cholesterol went down, and most of all, I just feel the difference in how I move and breathe.  Was so worth it!

My name is Steve and I am a professional bass player. I met Kelli while she worked at a gym near me and it was the first time I ever met a dietitian.  I’d always considered myself reasonably knowledgeable about food and healthy eating….so I thought!  I went to her because while I was hitting the gym regularly, I just couldn’t understand why I was only making little progress in weight loss.  What I learned even on my first session with her, really changed everything.  She has a SUPER simple approach.  This isn’t hardcore suffering type of ‘no pain no gain’ mentality here, but just easy, simple and common sense (to me now!)  My weight went down really quickly then, 45 lbs in less than a year, my cholesterol went down, and most of all, I just feel the difference in how I move and breathe.  Was so worth it!

My symptoms have all but disappeared and I have even started doing jiu-jitsu. Emoji

Doing the food sensitivity test and working with Kelli has been absolutely life changing. I had tried to do some food elimination experiments on my own, and had some success, but was still confused and frustrated when I would have issues and couldn't narrow down a culprit. My Fibromyalgia symptoms used to be so bad that it hurt to even get a hug from my son. In the few months I have been working with Kelly, my symptoms have all but disappeared and I have even started doing jiu-jitsu. Emoji

I have been able to make major life changes, and I have completel changed my relationship with myself and food.

The only thing you really need to know from this is that Kelli is AMAZING.

I have struggled for years to get my health back on track and lose weight. Over the last three months, Kelli has done wonders to help me succeed. I have been able to make major life changes, and I have completely changed my relationship with myself and food. She is supportive, insightful and I feel like she genuinely listens. Whenever I tried any health or weight loss “program” I always felt like it was so general, and honestly it never took how I was feeling into account. Kelli does exactly that. When I told her something wasn’t working or that I was frustrated, she listened and offered alternative ways to do things. She’s extremely knowledgeable in her field and I would highly recommend her to anyone! In 3 months, we have been able to completely change my thyroid health lowering some of my {antibody} levels from over 1300 to just under 200!!!

Kelli has made a huge difference in my life, and I am so excited to keep working with her on our new goal of weight loss!

For the longest time I was barely eating 1200 calories on a good day and I thought that was healthy

Thank you for everything! this has been a great experience and has taught me a lot :) I'm excited to move forward on my fitness journey and use the knowledge I have gained working with you and put it into practice. I feel like I have gained a better relationship with food over these last 8 weeks and it has really shown me just how much I was starving my body before. For the longest time I was barely eating 1200 calories on a good day and I thought that was healthy. I love food and I felt constantly hungry which led to binge eating. Throughout the 8 weeks I have never felt starved and even when I did go off menu I did it in moderation when normally it would have been an all out feast lol. Thank you for being so amazing!!!!

These meal plans make healthy eating so easy, one less thing to think about and takes away a lot of stress when there is already so much going on

Everything is going well.  I'm really enjoying doing these meal plans.  I am feeling so comfortable in the kitchen.  I don't even craving eating out anymore and when I do one bite feels like a brick in my stomach.  These meal plans make healthy eating so easy, one less thing to think about and takes away a lot of stress when there is already so much going on (postpartum 6 months.)

I have worked out my whole life and have worked with other nutritionists, but I have never learned what I have learned from Kelli

I am so excited about my progress on my meal plan program with Kelli.  I have learned what to eat, how much to eat and when.  It has made such a difference in my body composition and weight.  I have worked out my whole life and have worked with other nutritionists, but I have never learned what I have learned from Kelli – like eating for MY body type and lifestyle.  I am impressed with her vast knowledge of nutrition and her positivity!  Thanks, Kelli, you really have made a difference for me!

I’ve lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks. I’m so happy I’ve done this!

I love my meal plans! I have been so happy with this service. The meals are delicious, nutritious, and easy to prepare. My favorite part, aside from the great meals, is the shopping list you get each week. I am super jazzed about this as all the work is done for me. I just go through the list, check off what I have and am left with only the items I need to shop for. SO. EASY. Eating healthy has been made easy. Since I’ve made the commitment to doing this, AND combining exercise and being faithful with that, I’ve lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks. I’m so happy I’ve done this!

With losing 8 pounds in two weeks, I’m really excited to see where I end up in the next few months.

The meal plan takes the work out of trying to figure out what to make and purchase every week. It saves me lots of time and worry when its time to grocery shop and it actually makes it fun to prepare meals! I now look forward and enjoy shopping for groceries. With losing 8 pounds in two weeks, I’m really excited to see where I end up in the next few months.

After 6 months of work with Kelli, I truly feel like I am armed with the knowledge I need to make informed choices about what I eat.

I have struggled with IBS for as long as I can remember - you name the diet, and I've probably tried it - all in an effort to manage my uncomfortable, nagging symptoms. After having two kids, I started to notice new symptoms that were affecting my everyday life - headaches, heartburn, congestion...While I knew I didn't have a diagnosed food allergy, I couldn't help but feel like I needed more information to be able to create a diet that worked for MY body. I was so happy to connect with Kelli, and the LEAP testing a protocol has given me the knowledge and strategies for lifelong learning about what works and doesn't work for me food wise. Kelli is amazing at guiding you through the process (and it is a process), but it is so worth the time and effort in the end. As someone who thought they knew a lot about nutrition, Kelli raised SO many new considerations, questions and ideas - I hadn't realized how many factors go into determining how to make food a thing that nourishes and provides energy rather than something that is anxiety provoking and stressful. She was quick to respond to my  questions and always willing to problem solve with me - even if my concerns technically fell outside of the LEAP protocol.  She really took the time to hear me and offer suggestions to me a whole person, not just a person with IBS.  After 6 months of work with Kelli, I truly feel like I am armed with the knowledge I need to make informed choices about what I eat. I'm not striving for perfection, or depriving myself, that is the best part. I just know what works now, and most importantly, I  know the steps to reset if need be -- and lets be honest, everybody needs a reset once in a while.

In the process of eating better and exercising well, I lost body fat and gained muscle. .

"Working with Kelli was a fun and eye-opening experience. I learned a lot of valuable information from her which is important because I am a three sport athlete.  She helped me balance my diet and learn what is good and bad for my body. In the process of eating better and exercising well, I lost body fat and gained muscle. My performance in my sports improved immensely and I know if I ever had a question she would quickly and thoroughly answer me. I appreciate her care and help even to this day!"

Not only is she very knowledgeable about nutrition and healthy eating, she’s a great “life” coach.

"Kelli has been such a help in my weight loss journey.  Not only is she very knowledgeable about nutrition and healthy eating, she’s a great “life” coach.  Kelli helped me explore what I’ll do next once I reach my goal weight.  Sometimes you get so focused in the journey, you don’t think about what you’re going to do when you get there.  I appreciate that so much. Thank you."

But the biggest accomplishment is being able to stay ahead of my kids again.  It has been over a year following Kelli's nutrition coaching and I am still maintaining a healthy diet.

"I have always said I'll diet and work out next week.  Well week after week, there was always someones birthday, event or just another excuse.  It was time to stop procrastinating and start making better choices.  I started working with Kelli in November of 2014.  I was a high school and college athlete, even competing after college.  I got married, started a new career and traded working out for a 60+ hour work week.  Over the last 5 years, I put on about 100 extra pounds, and my most recent blood work from my doctors office was a mess. I finally decided to make a change and put my health first.

I know how to workout and lift weights but I knew that wasn't going to be enough.  Knowing diet was my greatest weakness, I signed up for nutrition coaching with Kelli because you can't out exercise a bad diet.  Kelli taught me to read labels and understand what kinds of foods I am putting in my body.  I didn't want a gimmick diet that was hard to follow or too strict to live with.  The best part of following Kelli's plan was that I never felt like I was dieting, I simply changed my diet. I went back to the basics of only eating real, whole foods and trying to eliminate over processed foods.  Exercising is hard work but the real challenge became meal preparation.  I would cook five days worth of healthy lunches every Sunday and pre-pack them for each work day.  We would write out a dinner menu and pre-prep our dinners as well, each week trying new vegetables.  What I love about this plan is that it is a lifestyle change that is still easy for me to follow.  In the first 5 months I was down over 90lbs and I dropped about 15% body fat.  I finished a 42 mile bike race, something I hadn't done in 10yrs.  But the biggest accomplishment is being able to stay ahead of my kids again.  It has been over a year following Kelli's nutrition coaching and I am still maintaining a healthy diet.

Thank you Kelli,

Kelli educated me on the fundamentals of a good nutrition. As a result, irrespective of whichever place/country I now work from, I can formulate my own healthy diet plans which suits my taste buds !

"I would highly recommend Kelli to anyone who wants to evaluate their diet plans and eat healthy. I will even go the extent of saying that she is my life saver! Kelli taught me how to have a balanced and healthy diet without any compromise in the taste of food. Until I met Kelli, I used to dread having sessions with a nutritionist since the recommendations they used to give me was almost impossible to follow unless I hired a Chef exclusively for preparing the foods that they prescribed ! Kelli educated me on the fundamentals of a good nutrition. As a result, irrespective of whichever place/country I now work from, I can formulate my own healthy diet plans which suits my taste buds !

Kelli has a great understanding of nutrition, food psychology and exercise. She is not only an amazing and supportive nutritionist, but she also lives the lifestyle she teaches, which proves to me that a healthy relationship with food is possible. If it wasn't for Kelli's keen observations and of course her deep knowledge about nutrition, I would have never known about my sensitivities towards certain types of food. I would have continued to falsely attribute my problems to my high protein intake. Kelli has been instrumental in improving my fitness level and making me healthy once again."

If you are having unexplained GI issues or autoimmune issues, I would highly recommend doing food sensitivity testing.  It has given me my life back.

I have struggled with food and eating for most of my life.  I began restricting calories at age 12 and had a full-blown eating disorder by age 14.  At 24, I was hospitalized for several months for anorexia nervous.  I came out 17 pounds heavier but still messed up inside.  After being hospitalized, I never went quite back to the extremes I had gone to before, but I did lose weight again gradually as stress took over.  I ended up reaching a sort of no-mans land.  I did not exactly have an eating disorder but I was underweight and constantly obsessed over calorie intake and weight.  Exercise, particularly cardio, became an obsession during this time.  While during teenage years, I merely restricted calories, during my early twenties, distance running became a socially acceptable way to control weight and get rid of calories.  It should also be noted that, for as long as I can remember, I have had GI issues, diarrhea, stomach upset, sometimes vomiting especially when I am stressed or anxious.  When I get stressed, I completely lose any desire to eat.

Once I adopted my first child at 29, exercise went away again for a couple of years and it was back to calorie restriction.  Then, once I felt ready to get back to the gym, I found lifting.  That changed a lot of things for me.  I began seeing food as fuel to build strength rather than as an enemy.  I definitely gained muscle but did not gain weight (lost body fat).

After a series of injuries that left me weak and depressed and very underweight, I decided to start with a new trainer.  He emphasized over and over again how much needed to gain weight, how dangerously low my body fat was.  I did gain some weight back to my normal weight (still underweight), but he was not satisfied with that.  I finally agreed to try to gain some weight up to a weight we both agreed on and to meet with a dietitian to help accomplish that.  That's when I met Kelli (May 2016).

We set up a plan, adding several hundred calories to my meal plan to sustain a slow weight gain, adding protein especially.  During this time, the GI issues that have plagued me my whole life continued and even got worse as the increased food aggravated things.  Over the next few months, we even began to think something might be seriously wrong, I was having diarrhea daily and vomiting several times per week.  I got an endoscopy done and while it showed damage and inflammation, it did not show why or how to treat it.  Meanwhile, Kelli had been encouraging me to consider food sensitivity testing, both for the GI issues and for some autoimmune type symptoms I had been having for the past couple of years.  After 4 months of being really sick, I was finally ready to try it.  I have had amazing results.  I stopped vomiting within 24 hours and stopped having diarrhea after about 72.  It has now been three months since I started the diet and I have not vomited once.  I have had no migraines for the past couple of months and am not having inflammation type pain anymore either.  I have managed to gain weight, 7 pounds over the past 8 months, which puts me at my goal weight so I can now move into a maintenance phase.  If you are having unexplained GI issues or autoimmune issues, I would highly recommend doing food sensitivity testing.  It has given me my life back.

I grew up eating fast food, top ramen, and all the 90's convenience foods.  When I ate home-cooked meals they usually consisted of southern poor man foods like spam and canned vegetables. When I got to college I had ZERO idea what healthy even was.  I didn't even know what green beans looked like outside of a can. In the early days of learning about nutrition, I thought calories were the end all be all.  I ended up damaging my metabolism and hormones in the process.  It was all worthwhile though because it motivated me to spend years studying functional and integrative nutrition.  Not only was I able to heal my metabolism, hormones, and fertility myself (when the doctors said I couldn't), but I also healed my husbands wrecked GI system and chronic migraines.  Now, I get out of bed every day with the idea that someday real food will be the norm for everyone. I have a dream that society will someday recognize the incredible healing power of good nutrition and use it as a mainstream treatment.

Whether you are a nutrition coaching client, meal plan client, or sports nutrition client, my goal is for you to develop a new lifestyle while reaching your goals.  You will learn the basics of healthy eating, develop a better relationship with food, and heal your body with personalized nutrition. Above all, your meals will not be gross diet food, it will be DELICIOUS amazing tasting food that's easy to prepare. Don't worry I've graduated from canned green beans, in fact, you probably already know I run my own food blog now!
