Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

These muffins are bursting with chocolate chips and good for you ingredients and are under 200 calories each, so you can feel good about having chocolate for breakfast or a snack!

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and grease muffin pan
  2. With an electric mixer, whisk all wet ingredients in a separate bowl (milk, banana, egg, butter, syrup, vanilla).
  3. Add in all dry ingredients flour, oats, flax, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until combined, DO NOT OVER MIX!
  4. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Divide mixture among 20 muffin cups and bake 18-20 minutes, until the toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Melt 1/4 cup chocolate chips in the microwave. (Microwave for 15 seconds, then stir. Repeat until chocolate chips are melted. Add melted chocolate into a ziplock bag and cut off the tip of the bag. Pour chocolate over muffins. If placed in the refrigerator the chocolate will harden.
