Four ingredient Trader Joe’s Broccoli Slaw Recipe idea, it doesn’t get more easy or delicious than this recipe!
Hi friends! Are you ready for another super easy Trader Joe’s Recipe? I know you guys share my love of Trader Joe’s because My Trader Joe’s Meal Plan, Healthy Trader Joe’s Recipes, Trader Joe’s Dinner Ideas, and Trader Joes Healthy Snacks have been among my top posts for years now.
When Trader Joe’s released their new poppyseed dressing, my head went swimming with combination ideas, but this is the one I couldn’t get out of my head. So last weekend when my MIL and I were at TJs on Mother’s Day, I decided I had to make it! It’s crunchy broccoli slaw and walnuts, paired with sweet juicy strawberries covered in a creamy tangy yet sweet poppyseed dressing. Y’all, it’s freaking amazing, and it’s only four ingredients. Lord, I love Trader Joe’s.
I think that’s one of the reasons why shopping at Trader Joe’s is so fun. You can make really delicious things out of just a few ingredients. I don’t have to scour the ingredient list of their products hard because they are almost free of preservatives or excess junk. This poppyseed dressing was particularly impressive when it comes to the ingredient list!
How to Make Trader Joe’s Broccoli Slaw Salad Recipe
Prep your strawberries, dump, mix, and serve. That’s all there is to it with this recipe!
Swaps and Substitution Ideas
Strawberries: Feel free to substitute traditional dried cranberries instead. Or you can use another fresh fruit like blueberries or even apple slices.
Broccoli Slaw: It’s not broccoli slaw without broccoli slaw, but if you don’t have a TJ’s near you with pre-made broccoli slaw, you could substitute shredded carrots or even do chopped kale instead.
Walnuts: I love walnuts in this recipe. They are beautiful to look at and create a depth of flavor perfectly matched with the balance between strong broccoli and sweet strawberries. However, feel free to substitute any other nut or seed you’d like! Trader Joe’s has the best nuts and seeds section to pick your favorites, such as sliced almonds, sunflower seeds, pepitas, etc. Feel free to go rogue and use something like candied walnuts or pecans too!
Poppyseed Dressing: If you don’t have a Trader Joe’s near you, or it’s sold out at your local store, substitute any creamy poppyseed dressing. You want a creamy version, not a vinegar-based one, or this recipe won’t be as good.
How to Store
After combining the ingredients, you can store the leftovers of this recipe for up to 3 days. I recommend serving it as close to prepping it as possible. It stays pretty crunchy after combining, but not as crunchy as when you first serve it.

Instructions
- Wash and cut strawberries. I quartered mine.
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl until everything is well coated. I started by using half the poppyseed dressing bottle and added until I felt everything was sufficiently creamy and covered without being oversaturated. I ended up using about 3/4 of the bottle. Serve immediately.
