These healthy Thanksgiving desserts are the perfect way to round out your Thanksgiving meal. Recipes include pies, bars, cinnamon rolls, muffins, cookies, and more!
I’ll let you in on a little secret.
I don’t love the traditional Thanksgiving meal. I think that’s why I ended up developing all my own healthy Thanksgiving sides recipes. I wanted to come up with recipes I enjoy. For instance, I love cornbread, so naturally, I think my recipe for cornbread stuffing is so much better than any other type of stuffing.
But, the desserts and the leftovers on the other hand. Now that’s something I can get into. We usually eat an early dinner/late lunch around 12-2ish and wait a few hours to have dessert. While the time spent digesting is helpful so that we can fully enjoy dessert, I always seem to be the one asking, “is it time for dessert yet?”
If you are like me and look forward to dessert, this round-up is PERFECT for you! But first, what does “healthy” Thanksgiving dessert mean?
To me, a healthy Thanksgiving dessert is one made with real food ingredients. All of these recipes do not have any refined flours or refined sugar. That does mean they are devoid of sugar in other forms (fruit, honey, maple syrup, etc.), though. To me, it’s about creating a little bit lighter version of the classics with real food ingredients.
As someone who looks forward to dessert the most, I don’t want to sacrifice dessert by stuffing it full of weird oils and artificial sweeteners sacrificing both taste and quality. Nope! No, thank you! I think you’ll find these healthy thanksgiving desserts made with real food ingredients are delicious while being slightly better for you! Win-win!
And for those of you on #teamleftovers, I’ve got a round-up for you coming soon!
