Happy FriYAY!
And to all my Arizona friends, happy monsoon season! Not everyone is as excited as me for the monsoons, but I love them. I love watching the lightning, listening to the pitter-patter of the raindrops against the wall, and smelling the rain as it quenches our excessively dry dirt. I also LOVE that monsoon season brings lots of overcast skies, which means less of hassle trying to walk Nala and baby on routes that have shade.
Not everyone loves them though, monsoon season slightly cools things down (120–>115F) but also, amps up the humidity. You basically can’t go anywhere without sweating, it’s gross. There is no way to not feel super gross by 9 am. It is what it is, and this summer it just hasn’t been bothering me. You know why? Probably because last summer I was carrying around a bowling ball on my stomach, double the blood volume, and 20ish extra pounds. Flashback –>
Although I’m still carrying him around, just now he is on the outside where I can sweat on him!
So this summer just feels a lot easier and I haven’t really been complaining. Perspective is everything people!

Food
In cased you missed it, I shared a full day of eats earlier this week in this post!
Over the weekend we did a bunch of grilling that gave us enough food for the weekend, plus chicken for my lunches. We did Butcherbox Flank Steak marinated in Worcestershire sauce and ButcherBox chicken thighs marinated in Primal Kitchen Lemon Tumeric marinade. You guys, that marinade was DELICIOUS. I need to buy like 100 of those bottles and keep them in my cabinet, so much yum!
I made salads with the leftover chicken thighs, tomatoes, avocado, and Primal Kitchen Vegan Ranch.
This weeks tuna salad combo was tuna, mashed avocado, Primal Kitchen Vegan Ranch, dijon mustard, dill relish, and celery. Side of roasted plantain chips!
Last nights dinner from Perfect Pear was a Strawberry Fields salad with no cheese and red onions, with a mango Blue Moon.

I was complaining about my electric bill the other day but I cannot imagine yours in the 120 degree temps! I guess you know what you know. Enjoy the monsoons!

Ha ha It isn’t too bad because we have a one-story and new AC unit which makes a huge difference. In our two-story house with a super old AC, our bill was twice as much even though the house was 500 square feet smaller!
