Good morning, friends! Happy FriYAY!
The park weather has been so great here! (We go if no one else is there and bring hand sanitizer.) I mean, how happy does this guy look with life?
How was your week, friends? Mine seem to fly by! The first week of classes always does that! I can’t believe we are now in semester three of online classes. I can’t help but wonder what the fall will bring. Mr. Hungry was able to get the vaccine since he works for a hospital (in finance). I’m hoping and praying (like most people) with the vaccine roll out cases begin to drop, and slowly our lives go back to normal. Ever since KJ was born, I’ve been incredibly PRO vaccine (whereas before I had kids, I was like, oh, I have my vaccines, I don’t give a crap what you do.) At 5 months old, we had scheduled a trip for Easter to see his Grandparents in California when measles had an outbreak. KJ was too young to be vaccinated, so it was a difficult choice to decide whether we should make the trip. Ultimately, with the blessing of our pediatrician, we did. But, ever since then, I realized the importance of vaccines, not just for yourself, but for those most vulnerable around you.
Mr. Hungry is a healthy 30 something-year-old. He didn’t get the COVID vaccine to protect himself, and the overwhelming likelihood is that if he got COVID, he would be fine. No, instead, he got it to try and protect his son, pregnant wife, his parents, his in-laws like my mom and aunt, those who can not receive it due to high-risk conditions, allergies, or previously experienced rare side effects, etc. or those who will not be able to receive the vaccine for a bit do to the roll-out process. I know it’s a new vaccine, and that’s scary, so I don’t blame those who are hesitant but, I do commend those stepping up to protect themselves and those around them. Thank you to those of you who took the opportunity to get it when available to you.
Anyways with that rant over/PSA over for the day….. What’s going on this weekend? More bathroom renovation?!?! The demo is done, and the beautiful tile floor is down. We’re moving along! Every weekend I slowly go through baby boxes, making piles since the dresser I ordered won’t be here till Mid-April. I’m making progress, though, little at a time! I need to decide whether I want to do a full day bed in the nursery or just a super comfy chair. Thoughts?

New MYLK from Daily Harvest
I’m super excited to try a new offering from my beloved Daily Harvest, MYLK! I actually recently updated my full DH review for 2021, so you can read about that here.
Basically, they created frozen Mylk pods that you blend with water to create almond milk. Using the freezer as a preservative, they don’t have to add gums or any preservatives to the pods, which are awesome! Many of my clients have sensitivities to these additives, but moreover, they don’t offer any nutrition benefit to our health. The fewer extra chemicals and preservatives your liver has to process out, the better.

Maguro Sushi & Ramen
We are OBSESSED with this new to us sushi spot. We’ve ordered 3-4 times in January alone. I usually am not a fan of cooked sushi (gross), but I love their cooked sushi rolls because they use REAL crab and not imitation crab. It just makes it so much better. Mr. Hungry only likes cooked sushi and loves the combination they offer. We’re obsessed.
Almond Protein Powder
Bob’s Red Mill sent me some of their new Almond Protein Powder, which I’m SUPER excited about. It’s one ingredient, almonds. In pregnancy, I tend to limit protein powders because I don’t love the taste, and it’s hard to find them without a huge amount of additives. This is a huge win for me. I’ll definitely be adding it to my Smoothiebox smoothies going forward.
Fitness – 24 Weeks Pregnant
I missed my usual weekend workouts this week. I didn’t have any excuse other than I was EXHAUSTED all weekend. Prego insomnia has been hitting me kind of hard, and all of a sudden, I feel very pregnant, which is laughable because I’m only 24 weeks along.
I rallied with a lower and upper body workout on Monday and Tuesday from Expecting and Empowered, and I also did a ton of walking 2-3 miles a day. I’m planning to get back to my weekend workouts this weekend, though!
Friday (1/15) – nothing recorded?
Saturday (1/16) – Long Walk
Sunday (1/17) – Long Walk
Monday (1/18) – Lower Body Week 24
Tuesday (1/19) – Upper Body Week 24
