Cue the selfies!
Friday favorites are so much more fun to write when I can be 100% honest, so glad our little secret is out in the open! And there is much more to say now that I’m getting back into the swing of things and feeling less sick. Today Mr. Hungry and I are headed out to a little babymoon (I know it’s early, maybe we will do a second one) but, it’s much much needed since we haven’t been on a solo parent vacay since 2016 (aka two years before KJ was born.) I know, I know, life has just been crazy! We’ve gone places, but not just like the two of us, always family or work trips. Anyway, this will be a short intro, and I hope you have a good weekend!
AND BTW! I HAVE A LITTLE ANNOUNCEMENT NEXT WEEK! (NO It’s not twins.) And I can’t wait to share with you and finally reveal the project I worked on all summer! I think you guys are gonna be excited, stay tuned!
Want a laugh this Friday? Send this picture (below) to your husband, brother, dad, boyfriend, whoever and ask them what size they want. Mr. Hungry’s response was a mix of hilarious with a dash of inappropriateness, so I can’t share it. But, trust me, DO IT!
Food
I’ve been LOVING steel-cut oats with banana, dried cherries, and peanut butter. I also feel better about it than the plain bagel and cream cheese I ate every day for like a month!
Speaking of oats, I ordered a bunch of organic rolled oats and steel-cut oats from Thrive Market. They are WAY cheaper there. I usually get rolled oats at Costco but have been making an effort to eat organic oats and wheat more consistently (high pesticide crops.)
And for days when I’m lazy, I tried out the Elizabeth oatmeal cups you see in the top right. They are pretty good!
I was also sent some Thinster cookies, and I was OBSESSED! The chocolate chip was absolutely my favorite, and I’d totally buy these if I saw them in stores!
And last, but not least on the food favorites list are these 88 Acres bars! OMG, the other flavors I usually eat weren’t sitting well, but these are just what this pregnant mama needed. They are the perfect blend between citrusy, sweet, and chewy. Plus, they are super filling, which staves off morning sickness for a few hours!
Favorites – KJ’s Firsts
Lot’s of firsts for KJ in the last couple of weeks!
First time painting with real paint at his Auntie G’s house!
First pumpkin carving with other Grandma! (FYI, KJ has three Grandmas, my Aunt (Auntie G), my Mom, and my MIL. He is a lucky kid!)
First time playing at the park in months because it was either too hot or too COVID. We still only go when there is no one else there and bring hand sanitizer, but he LOVES it!
Fitness – Week 13-14
We go on a 2-mile walk almost every day! Also, I’ve been better about getting workouts in. So far, I really love the Aaptiv Move Through the Maternity Program. However, the super sweet gals from @expectedandempowered just sent me their guide to check out, and I’m beyond grateful because I love their account so much. It’s a huge wealth of information, so if you aren’t following them yet, definitely do! I’ll report back on it after I’ve tried a few workouts.
