Grab a cup of coffee… its time for us to catch up a bit don’t you think?
If we were having coffee this morning….
… you would see my hair badly needs to be dyed, but I did cut 4 inches off and I kind of want to keep cutting it shorter! Photo coming to IG soon…
I would tell you…
… about how excited we are to welcome our first nephew into the world, Joseph Michael, born last week in Houston, Texas.
….about how the birth of our Nephew sparked a few conversations about when we would want to grow our own family, in sum, we are both still okay with waiting a while but ideally would like get started before our 30’s.
…how much I love love love teaching Nutrition classes, just like on the blog I get to freely share as much nutrition information as I can, it’s awesome. Right now I’m teaching a nutrition lab so we get to do a lot of fun introductory stuff that really makes a difference in their lives. I think I would really like teaching higher level nutrition courses as well so it’s something I’m pursuing.
….about how I messed up the dates the dates of the classes I’m teaching which meant we went a whole month without a significant income from me (I had a little bit from Hungry Hobby RD clients and blog partnerships), luckily I’m married to someone who is insanely good at saving as well as making money from nothing. For me, when money is tight I want to scrounge and save and hoard like my Grandma taught me. Put pennies in the penny bank and wait till they add up, that’s my method. When money is tight, instead of struggling Mr. Hungry takes calculated risks that I could not fathom doing myself, but it usually works in his favor. If it doesn’t, it really isn’t that big of a deal because he has made significantly more than he has lost and never put our family in danger. I feel blessed that I’m married to someone that is so good with that kind of stuff because I never will be, I’d rather hide in a corner than look at investment opportunities and that’s the truth.
…. how much I love working with my Hungry Hobby RD clients. I feel blessed to be able to provide more follow up information, as well as detailed plans and on-going support. I’m doing it how I think nutrition coaching should be and it feels great!
…I would tell you about a few special projects I’ve been working on including special items for my subscribers, potentially turning my 52 healthy habits series into a program or e-book at the end, and offering training/workouts as part of my Hungry Hobby RD client programming. I’d definitely ask you what you thought about that!
….about Nala, I can’t believe she turned a year old! She is really the sweetest thing ever and she is calming down little by little. We are also very worried about her, she never really kicked her kennel cough, she stopped coughing but had really runny eyes plus sneezing. Then she started coughing again, our last vet appointment gave us another huge round of antibiotics and said that if that didn’t work we need to start investigating other potential causes like Valley Fever. Thankfully I haven’t heard her cough in a couple of days, so I’m really optimistic she just never kicked the original kennel cough.
….about Missy, she is holding her own with the pup but she mostly stays upstairs. It kind of makes me sad for her but I think she is still mostly happy and healthy which is all that matters.
….how irritated with myself I am that I hurt my back again. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Okay, but in reality, it isn’t that big of a deal. I’m on a mission to have my best body ever this summer and I know I can get where I want to be (super comfortable in a swimsuit post on the blog status) it even with the delay in my workouts. When I started to feel down on myself I read through all my favorite blogs and realized that everyone I follow that I think is the greatest struggled with their fair share of injuries, every. single. one. So, it’s fine and I’ll be fine and kicking you know what soon!
…about lent, Mr. Hungry gave up a few bad words but I can’t bring myself to give up anything. Instead, I decided to say a St. Joseph the Worker novena with Mr. Hungry and add regular meditation back into my life.
…on the blogging front I’d tell you how fun it’s been to get my new camera and finally have some pictures consistently accepted to the foodie sites out there (see right side bar for galleries). I’d also tell you how excited I am to be attending a few blogging related conferences this summer and fall.
… how much I loved working at the gym but hated the hours, I miss it sometimes but I know I made the right decision for our family, I almost never saw Mr.Hungry before.
….how I passed my group fitness certification, which I know will help me stay in the fitness world, and now need to find a place to teach, any ideas?

Congrats on your new nephew!! Being an aunt is so fun 🙂
I love all your pet pictures, and I’m totally with you on not giving anything up for Lent. I’ve been reading my Bible every morning and mediating and trying to multi-task less (SO hard haha!) xxxo
