Happy Friday Everyone!
Last night I had a very yummy and healthy dinner at an all organic restaurant called the Palm Greens Cafe in Palm Springs. I know why people come here to retire now, it may be hot but the food is so dang good!
My friend and I ordered spaghetti squash and a greek wrap to share because we couldn’t make up our minds… there were so many yummy choices! We had a really good time too, the atmosphere was super relaxed and quiet. I love when you can just chill out after a long day over good food. Isn’t that what its all about? Especially after feeling so stressed Wednesday, it’s good to just take a night off to share a meal and hang out with a friend I hadn’t see in a while. Since it’s Friday I hope many of you get to do the same tonight. 🙂
But, now let’s back up a little bit to yesterdays breakfast…
Chocolate Banana Nut Bread Oats
Breakfast yesterday morning was AWESOME, plus I wanted to bring you one more dessert for breakfast refrigerator oats recipe before the weekend… and this one may be the best yet! Another dessert for breakfast? Yep and who doesn’t want an excuse to have chocolate in the morning??? Exactly!
Looks good… tastes freaking amazing! Here is what when into it:
Ingredients:
– 3/4 cup rolled oats
– 1 tbsp almond butter
– 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder (vanilla shown cause I don’t actually have the chocolate container anymore)
– 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
– 3/4 cup chocolate unsweetened almond milk
– 1 tsp chia seeds
The Easiest How To Instructions Ever:
1. Combine all ingredients above in a bowl, mix well.
2. Place the bowl in the refrigerator overnight.
3. In the morning, mix up your delicious breakfast dessert and add more milk if desired (I did).
4. Top with banana, more nut butter, nuts, or whatever you like!
Makes 2 servings (or one large serving), for one serving:
I was a little worried when I combined all the ingredients because it looked a little runny, but the oats and chia absorbed all the liquid by the morning perfectly. This recipe was even tested and approved by my picky eater landlord/roommate and friend! The idea of it cold didn’t appeal to her so she heated her’s up in the microwave! That gives me an idea for the winter… you could make oats in the fridge overnight then just heat in the morning in the microwave… thats even easier than instant oatmeal (and probably healthier)! Hooray!

Personally, tonight I’m looking forward to taking a new bootcamp class, a glass of wine, playing with Presley, and some vegetable-zone out relaxation time in front of the TV! Netflix here I come….
