Happy Friday friends! TGIF as always! I didn’t realize my hair is getting so dark until I started taking Sunday photos (also known as the only day I’m guaranteed to put on real clothes, well also on teaching days but those are out of the house in a hurry days ya know?)
Fitness
You may notice I’m taking a bunch of days off in a row. I decided after 12 weeks working hard to complete the Kayla Itsines Beach Body Guide, it was time for a rest. Plus with my procedure (root canal, more about that below), I’ve needed the extra time rest. Remember every athlete has a rest period, those of us that aren’t training for a sport specifically should schedule in recovery at least every 12 weeks of consistently hard workouts!
- Friday (9/29) – honestly with the painters here and all the madness all I got in was a 40-minute walk with the pup.
- Saturday (9/30) – 90 Minute OTF Workout (the 60-minute version is here, we added another treadmill block and strength block which was the same moves as the 60-minute version)
After this, they adjusted my max heart rate because obviously, 48 minutes in the red isn’t real life. Either way, I texted Megan prior to my workout and told her I could only meet up for her birthday if I survived this workout. Good thing I survived, I was definitely a little nervous but felt like a badass after!
- Sunday (10/1) – BBG Week 11 Arms
- Monday (10/2) – BBG Week 12 Abs
- Tuesday (10/3) – Walk 2 miles with pup/OFF
- Wednesday (10/4) – Walk 2.5 miles with pup/OFF
- Thursday (10/5) – Wak 3 miles with pup/OFF
FOOD
I recorded Monday for you while I was still eating softish foods prior to a root canal. I have to say my eating habits don’t feel like they’ve been stellar AT ALL. My tooth got worst and worse throughout the week and on Wednesday I ate Halo Top FOR DINNER. I might have done the same thing on Thursday. Can’t wait till it’s all healed up and I’m back to normal! The good news was I was able to complete the procedure without anesthesia!!!! I was super excited to get through it, not just for the fact that we saved over $1500 bucks but also that I could do it. I usually have a problem getting numb but there was no problem this time, likely because the endodontist (root canal specific dentist) injected so much numbing stuff into my mouth that I was still slightly numb when I went to bed that night (the procedure started at 8 am) Ya, that’s a TON of numbing stuff! Anyways, here was Monday….
6:30 am: 2 scoops collagen, coffee, and half and half while gratitude journaling – love this new52-week list I got.
7:30 am: Two Trader Joe’s Pumpkin waffles with sun butter. I gave away my oats to Mr. Hungry because he had an early morning appointment and couldn’t take a smoothie, it would have gone bad. So I “had to” go with the less healthy option.
10:30 am: coffee number 2 lots of water
11:15 am: two slices of Columbus black forest uncured ham straight from the refrigerator
11:45 am: Brussel sprouts steamed super soft in the instant pot and leftover fired pie pizza, also had another half slice and 2-3 more Brussels. My teeth still hurt so steaming Brussel sprouts was the only way to get soft veggies in. the painters were nice, but I’m sure they did not appreciate the smell. Oh well, do what you go to do right? Also just a note, here is the difference between adding veggies and not for pizza. Sunday night I had a half of pizza to myself, I was too lazy to make any veggies. Monday for lunch I could only eat 1-2 slices because all those Brussels were so filling. yes, the pizza was kind of chewy, #worthit took longer to chew on one side NBD.
PS I actually think I burnt my mouth on that pizza which added to the chewing/swallowing misery. FAIL
2:30 pm: I had a peanut butter mug cake with peanut butter on top (recipe coming soon)
around 4:30 pm I had another snack of cottage cheese with raisins, blueberries, and pumpkin seeds – obsessed with this cottage cheese I get mine at Whole Foods
for dinner, I had soft scrambled eggs and more Brussel sprouts
dessert was a few bites of a sweet potato coffee cake brownie recipe that’s coming soon!

Brussels sprouts are the best. I think I’ll make them for dinner tonight…
I’ve been tempted to start BBG but haven’t gotten myself to do it yet! I think I like classes too much… hmmm.
Have a great weekend, girl!

I have been thinking about trying the 90 minute OTF class, but have not gotten to the point of signing up for it just yet. Glad the root canal went okay, hope you are feeling 100% soon.
