Hi Friends! Hope you had a fabulous weekend that included allthegoodstuff! We kicked off the weekend Friday night with fish tacos from Socal Tacos, I haven’t had fish tacos in forever they totally hit the spot, as did coconut shrimp.
Saturday Nala & Paul negotiating a walk…
Our friend’s kids had a soccer tournament right across the street from our house so we walked over for a couple of the games to hang out with them, hooray the oldest boys team actually won the whole tournament!
Last week Mr. Hungry told me to text some random number so we could get free chipotle, so Saturday after mass, we were all about it!
Sunday was kind of a lazy day for us, I’m still taking it easy on my back so I’m pretty much going crazy. Please tell me why getting injured makes me want to do something more? You tell me no and I’m like a two year old, that means I will. I busied myself with chores and writing to get my mind off it. We also watched like a million episodes of Vikings, not my favorite show but it is kind of interesting. I definitely would much rather watch that then all the super gorey shows Mr. Hungry watches like walking dead. That goes on and it’s my cue to go to bed.
Sunday night Mr. Hungry had a basketball game, it was fun to watch him and support him like he does when I go to a race!
After we stopped by In and Out for Mr. Hungry and then we went for froyo after the game…
Banging Birthday Body:
…. so….After a rather indulgent weekend, little to no workouts thanks to my sore back, I woke up this morning thinking about how summer abs are made in the winter. In the past I’ve calorie counted and cut carbs to lean out (prior to being a dietitian), but I did just that, I leaned out. For my wedding I feel like I was a smaller version of myself (not by a lot, maybe 10lbs less than I am now and 5-6lbs below my normal weight), but that isn’t how I want to look this summer. I want to look how I feel: strong and athletic, I want muscles popping out of everywhere. Plus, when you try to cut calories and carbs forever it works, you get there, you are smaller but it’s super hard to maintain anyway, pretty much making it pointless in my eyes. I know it’s hard to believe but if you take it slow and steady by summer you can have that swimsuit body you always wanted! So, that’s my goal, I want the cutest swimsuit ever and I want to feel amazing in it without feeling like I starved myself to get there. Which won’t work anyway since if you starve yourself you can’t build muscle.
So, I’ve already meal planned for week 7 in our 52 healthy habits challenge, so here are my summer body goals for this week:
1. Drink 16 -24 ounces of water before coffee or food (aka when I wake up)
2. Always keep water with me and I know I’ll drink it
3. Take all my supplements (MV, Fish Oil, sometimes Vitamin D and curcumin)
4. Limited dessert to 1x/week aka shut down the night time snacking
My back is still sore so my workouts are going to be less than stellar this week, but that’s okay. Mr. Hungry keeps reminding me, in the grand scheme of things a few days off, even a week is nothing, if anything the rest is great for your body. Soon enough I’ll start killing it, but in the mean time summer abs are made in the kitchen anyway!
