Hi Friends! Happy Monday I hope you had a fabulous weekend! Let’s get down to it I have some fun stuff to tell you about!
Saturday
My last day at Life Time, a fun and a weirdly relaxing day. I wasn’t stellar at recording food this weekend, isn’t that always the truth? Here are a few snap shots from Saturday…
Finally finished the last of my Spicy Broccoli Cheddar Egg White Quiche, so sad there isn’t any left I guess I’ll just have to make more!
More food: Chicken Sausage, Toast with Almond Butter, Salmon Salad, Grilled Chicken and Veggies
Then there were cookies, not sure why I all of a sudden decided to bake but I did. Cookies on the left are a pretty awesome creation I’m going to have to try to replicate, but totally sugar free and delicious. Cookies on the right, sugar filled flourless peanut butter wonderfulness (based on this recipe, but I only used half the sugar.)
Later on we went out with a friend from work to celebrate my last day there. We ended up going down to downtown Chandler for the tumbleweed tree lighting…. you know your from Arizona when…..
You’ve made a giant Christmas Tree fire hazard out of roadside dead weeds and branches. Still pretty cool though! We had some drinks in downtown Chandler but I didn’t take a picture because you know, I try not to be “that girl” when I’m out with friends. We had a great time though watching football and listening to country!
Hungry Hobby Store
On Sunday I woke up at 6:30am and decided to get some work done before I went on my long run (it never fails, alcohol for me equals early rising). My plan was UCAN drink and UCAN bar, let that settle and then hit the door. However I got super distracted redesigning my “Hungry Hobby Favorites Page”, it came out great though! I had a lot of fun going back through my Amazon orders to make a list of products I actually love. However, I think I’ve decided there needs to be a group for Amazon Prime abuse, I might be on the verge. Anyways, check out the redesign!
I’m not sure if I’m going to put together a“gift guide” post this year, I’m thinking about it, but in the mean time there are some great ideas up on that page!
7 Mile Run
I ended up heading out the door a little later which was a bit stressful, I forget how long it takes to get ready to run, actually run the long run, and recover with a foam roller and ice. This time I took puppy with me for the first 3.5 miles, then Mr. Hungry picked her up at my half way point, 10 months is still a little young to be running more than 3-4 miles I think.
I don’t mind all the extra time spent because the run felt great! The last time I ran 7 miles (over a year ago) I was still trying to figure out what was wrong with my hip and just kind of pushing through. I couldn’t believe how amazing I felt this time (with the exceptions of my shins which always will hate me to do lack of foot mobility). I’m feeling really happy to be able to run again!
My splits were a bit slower, but not at the end because I didn’t have any pain! I really just trucked a long nice and slow like a long run is suppose to be. I wasn’t even tired or anything when I got home, so I probably could have pushed it a little bit harder. However, I have to keep in mind not every run needs to push the limits, that’s how you get injured!
1- 9:59/mi
2- 9:53/mi
3- 9:45/mi
4- 10:06/mi
5- 9:55/mi
6- 10:01/mi
7- 9:59/mi
Total 7 mles in 1:09:45
Post workout was my favorite protein shake of course, then it was off to Starbucks to meet a client!
The rest of the day included Christmas shopping, church, more eggs, more salmon, more cookies…. just the way I like a good Sunday….

Thanks that’s a good one!

That quiche looks delicious! Good job on your run; I love your mindset and remembering that pushing yourself to the limit every time is how people get injured. It’s okay to enjoy yourself while exercising! 🙂

Thanks Melanie! Enjoyable exercise… we need to quote you on that!
