Whoo it’s Friday! whoop whoop! Thank goodness right? It’s been a fun recipe week here at Hungry Hobby.
In case you missed any of them: Chocolate Chip Banana Oat Muffins, Pumpkin Maple Coffee Creamer, Healthy 3.5 Layer Bean Dip, and Vegetable Chip-Flax Crusted Chicken
Although I prefer daily more personal posts intertwined in with recipes, I had a lot of fun practicing my photography skills and finally getting a few photo’s on Foodgawker and Healthy Aperture. My photo’s got rejected SO MANY TIMES, it’s fun to finally see some up on those sites!
Fitness Recap
Oh my gosh it’s been a while since I’ve posted my recent fitness adventures! I’m still going to Physical Therapy for my pelvic instability, my PT says I’m getting stronger so that’s good. The only thing is there is only so many hours in the day so my accompanying workouts haven’t been stellar but I’m running again so I’m happy about that. I know I’ll get there I just have to keep pushing through and not increase my mileage too fast. Promise to do a full update soon.
10/19 (Sun)- 20 minute circuit workout plus walk
10/20 (Mon)- lots of walking during FNCE
10/21 (Tues)- More walking and traveling back from FNCE
10/22 (Wed)– “HAWK” (I did the first mile on the elliptical and ran the second mile)
10/23 (Thurs)- Walk 2.5 miles during lunch
10/24 (Fri)- Run 1.5 miles + 15 minutes on stairmaster

10/26 (Sun)- 2 mile run/1 mile walk
10/27 (Mon)- PT
10/28 (Tues)- OFF
10/29 (Wed)- PT and 40 minute walk
10/30 (Thurs)- walk/run 3 miles

Some days are easier than others, and even though I’m not doing as much as I would like to be doing, I’m proud of myself. I’m proud of myself for staying active over the last year of being injured. I’m also proud of myself for never giving up and continuing to seek treatment and not just accept it. I’m grateful for everything my body can do, every run and every workout is a blessing.
Something To Do: Build Your Wishlists
Last year all the kids picked out of hat to pick one person to buy for. When my SIL sent me her Amazon Gift wish list it was the most amazing thing ever. Except for our love of photography and the 90’s, we have very different interests, so it was nice to know that I could get her something she wanted. Before that I thought wish lists were selfish and took the fun out of buying someone a gift, now I know they are the best thing ever created. So I’m building wishlists for myself this year, starting with Fabletics (<—affiliate link). I love my first Fabeletics outfit so much I wear it multiple times a week, gross I know. Seriously though, hopefully no one notices. I definitely think I need more than one outfit, so I’ve started building my outfit wish list! I see a lot of repeating colors, apparently I’m in the mood for blue?
Need a laugh? Check out this post ” Honest Break Up Letters Written By Kids” I was dying laughing!
Questions of the day:
Have you ever built a holiday wish list? Did you get what you wanted?
What are you most excited for this weekend?
Mr. Hungry has a friend visiting in town and I’m most excited because this particular friend is Vegan. While I’m not vegan, I do like cool little hipster cafes that serve healthy vegan/vegetarian food. I’ve been wanting to go back to a local cafe since I went with Mama Shallal, but Mr. Hungry refuses. Let me recount this conversation for you:
Me: “Let’s go to Pomegranate Cafe, they have eggs, you like eggs!”
Mr. Hungry: “Do they have bacon?”
Me: “No.”
Mr. Hungry: “Do they have biscuits and gravy?”
Me: “I don’t think so, but I think they have tempeh bacon.”
Mr. Hungry: Silence followed by, “How about the Burrito Company for breakfast burritos?”
I can’t wait for Mr. Hungry to finally try it this weekend (I’m hoping he finds out this type of food can be good too) and catch up with one of our very good friends and groomsmen in our wedding!
Have a FANTASTIC WEEKEND!

I always jump for joy when Foodgawker and the other sites accept my photos! It can be so random sometimes!

I love whenever my photos get accepted by Foodgawker… I can’t figure out how to make them 500X500 to submit to healthy aperture, whoops.
Kelli Shallal MPH RD says
It took me FOREVER to figure it out, people kept telling me to use picmonkey but my problem wasn’t actually the cropping but the size of the image. I usually crop the photo using lightroom or aperture 1 x1 ratio, or sometimes picmonkey then I use this website: http://www.picresize.com/edit I upload the photo, (you can crop it), select 50% smaller, and max photo size of 500kb. Then download it again. Once I started doing that I had no problem with healthy aperture submissions. Hope that helps!
