Write a blog that you would want to read. I love putting together recipe posts and giveaways, but I also love to read blogs and write posts with real life snapshots and thoughts. Tonight I had an idea for a quick blog post about strength training your arms so I decided to type a quick post. When I was injured all I did was push ups, pull ups, and lift weights. I noticed a crazy improvement in my arm strength and definition during that time (even though I was going crazy not being able to do cardio.)
I was scheduled to run this morning but I had some knee pain so I backed off and decided to do an arm workout after work. (I did this one and this one from my pinterest board.) Usually I would be annoyed but I started thinking about how much my arms do for me and how much I’ve neglected really working them out since I started running again.
I noticed my arms have been losing some of their definition so I definitely want to make sure I add in more push ups and other arm workouts more often. My arms had that awesome good burn after I was done and even though I didn’t get a hardcore sweat session in I still felt like I worked hard!
After my workout I made a delicious salad for dinner with sweet chili goat cheese, cashews and chopped up mahi burger.
When Mr. Hungry got home I made him a manly green smoothie
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 date
- 1 scoop vanilla Formulx Protein Powder (affiliate link)
- 1 spoonful peanut butter
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 cup ice
- 1 big handful of spinach
What about you? Do you find it hard to keep your arm workouts up when you’re running or doing more cardio based workouts?
